Kilsyth Academy
Kilsyth Academy’s project brief included a complete rationalisation and refurbishment of the existing school as part of the North Lanarkshire’s Council’s Education 2010 projects. A new build extension to house additional classrooms and a larger dining space were included – all requiring a sensitive approach due to the school being of local historic interest.
The pupil social areas being another key requirement of the brief to which the design response maximised the duality of flexible space internally and externally to create a hybrid of educational/ social zones.
