Work is progressing on site at the new Greenhill and Drumpark Schools in Coatbridge.
The project is part of North Lanarkshire Council’s Schools and Centres 21 Framework with Graham Construction acting as Main Contractor and CRGP as Architects.
The design for the new Primary School retains and utilises the existing Grade ‘C’ listed part of the former Coatbridge High School, bringing and old and important building back to life.
Exciting new spaces have also been created including a Swimming Pool with coloured opaque external cladding panels, a sleek modern extension housing the Main Entrance and Admin’ areas and the wow factor space; an internal Courtyard with an ETFE roof covering and fully glazed facade.
The new ETFE roof utilises air filled cushions to give a lightweight roof covering that maximises top light and views out from within the space whilst also giving the space an outdoor feel.
The steelwork for the new roof has now been erected on site, with ETFE cushions to follow, marking a key stage within the project.
